When Narendra met Nawaz…

Modi: Hum Pakistani Army se bahut pareshaan hai.
Nawaz: Kya batau? Main tujh se jyaada Pakistani Army se pareshaan hu!

Pappu reads headline: Modi-Sharif discuss ties.
Goes ballistic and says: Ye hai suit-boot-tie ki sarkaar!

2013: Yet another Bad Corruption Day.
2014: Good Governance Day.
2015: Good Diplomacy Day.

Sharif—Pakistan International Airlines.
Modi—Pakistan India Afghanistan in one day.

December 25 birthdays…
Christ. Newton.
Malaviya. Vajpayee.
Jinnah. Sharif.

How the conversation should have gone…
Mani—We will have peace if you remove Modi.
Retort—Actually we will now definitely have peace.
Mani—Why?
Retort—Because jokers like you have already been removed.

Today the headline of the Times of India Front Page Lead has 33 words.
I wonder if this is a new record.

When Obama came to India’s Republic Day…

Obama visits.
Obama walks.
Obama stops.
Obama moves.
Obama smiles.
Obama thinks.
Obama sad.
Obama glad.
Obama sits.
Obama eats.
Obama blinks.
Obama…
#TVCoverage

Since Obama is the chief guest, it would have been fitting to have a Call Centre Tableau.

Globalization…
The US President is in India for our Republic Day.
The Indian cricket team is down under for their Australia Day.

There is a silent moment where silent prayers are being said silently.
Even cricket commentaries have not seen such lows.
‪#‎ObamaCommentary‬

Everyone knows India and US are the two largest democracies in the world.
Fact of the day…
China and Pakistan* are the two largest dictatorships in the world.
(*The Army chief always rules Pakistan either directly or indirectly)

Spot the difference…

Monarch of his empire.

Military commander.

Multiple wives.

Rampant capital punishment.

Medieval mentality.

(But seen by many as a moderate.)

Personal untold riches.

Financial prosperity for his kingdom.

Architectural construction boom.

Are we discussing Shah Jahan of the Mughals or King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia?

No wonder US President Barack Obama was hard-pressed for a choice between Shah Jahan’s Taj Mahal and King Abdullah’s funeral and finally chose the latter!

The conundrum that is Pakistan…

Pakistan hates America, but loves to take huge military and financial aid from it.

Pakistan hates terrorists, but loves to give them all forms of support.

Pakistan loves the Army, but hates to accept the fact that it has ruined democracy in Pakistan.

Pakistan loves fundamentalists, but hates to acknowledge the destruction they have unleashed.

Pakistan hates India, but loves blaming it for all its ills.

Pakistan loves Kashmir, so much so that it seems to hate all its other provinces.
