I’ve been following you on twitter since quite a while and it became quite obvious that you are a hockey fan like me.

2. I have no issues with whatever you write. Those are your opinions and in the same way these are mine.

3. I was personally offended with that ‘#hockeymargaya’ tag you were using with your updates on twitter. If you are a hockey fan and if you want people to like it then I don’t see how #hockeymargaya can inspire or motivate people to like hockey again or at least respect the efforts that are being made. Things doesn’t work out as expected sometimes and that doesn’t mean that you will start saying “MAR gaya” for it.

4. Last but not the least, I was born in 1990 and all those glorious years were history by that time. And like you said, as long as I’ve been alive, I have never seen Indian Hockey winning anything at international level. So I started watching unaware of all the records or how good or bad Indian Hockey Team was. I love hockey for its sheer beauty. Even if India didn’t qualify for Olympics or if India won Asia cup, my love for hockey never decreased or increased.

5. And #4 is also the reason why I am angry with all the people (including you) for saying all that negative stuff for hockey. Just a request from a hockey fan,

Pretty grand and sweeping statement don’t you think considering you don’t even know me.
If you have the time, then let me say a few things:
1. I have been watching matches and following hockey for more than 25 years. Hockey has been depleting because people like me have been watching hockey for 25 years?
2. Through social networking sites, I have posted tonnes of positive messages. When India loses, do you feel happy? Do you celebrate? Do you go around smiling? We all feel frustrated and let off steam in different ways. This is simply my way of doing it.
3. It is just tongue and cheek humour. If you felt hurt, then I’m sorry. I can’t say more.
4. Also face the facts: The last Top 3 international tournament(Olympics, WC, Champions Trophy) we won was in 1980. You can’t hide that fact. I know we have won Asia Cups and all, but nothing much on the international scene.
5. I am really happy that you are a die-hard fan and will continue watching. Most of the country ignores hockey. That is not something you can accuse me of doing. My aim is not for anyone to stop watching hockey.
